  2. Same thing with the elderberries down here – a lot untouched, shrivelled and black – but there are masses of other hips, sloes etc to be had around. Lovely colours!

    1. I always reckon that what ever grows up here is about two or three weeks behind . ..and the. theory seems to be holding up…. I haven’t seen any shrivelled black elderberries just yet, just ripe ones !!

    1. I was surprised to see these which seem untouched by the birds and all still shiny. Perhaps these will be black and all dried up soon enough although I think birds still eat them even when past their best ! No sign that they are eating them just yet….
