Yes! magic! And I was all alone…. it was only over the road from me…… we are on top of a hill and there is plenty of sky about!. (The stars even show up at night as there is not a lot of light pollution just here) This morning …. I must have taken a shot for every move the sun made.. First I noticed this orange light in the kitchen when I was making early coffee and so I wrapped up and rushed out camera in hand, to the corner and the fields where it would be in full view… . The sky just here can sometimes look like a beach …..but probably nothing like your sunrise on your beach in Brazil. It must have been stunning.
Beautiful picture Gill, I really like the dark silhouettes at the front. We don’t get sunrise until after 7am but we are catching you up and joy of joys, the clocks go forward in three weeks and then it’s really spring…. Hallelujah
Hi Mark, glad you like it. The sky was pretty awesome (no fiddling with photo shop) and no one else around! The silhouettes , a couple of scraggy saplings seem to have had their moment today! (actually not too pretty in ordinary day light) Ah yes the clocks! …..and official Spring…(it’ll .probably decide to snow here by then!.) But with any luck there may be a rainbow or two arriving somewhere above where that orange sun was today ….please!…. Hallelujah!!?!! (Jupiter clear up there tonight here)
Thanks. It didn’t last! I was really happy with the photo (s) .Its not enhanced; no tricks, just a teasing sun and one of a batch taken at the same point, a few yards from our house this morning. Ii ran out to catch it and all shots came out looking much the same…….. At first the clouds were dramatic in a heavy veil of orange and white fluff….which gradually thinned. It was a simply glorious dawn for a while with a peachy frost underfoot. Now in the same skies over those fields with the sun gone…. it all looks very plain and ordinary again. But while it lasted no one else was about…..It was all mine.!
They are the magic moments in our lives. I feel sad for the people that forget to look for the fleeting gems that come our way. If we look for happiness, happiness appears. A magic moment for you and a giant congrats on the ‘natural’ photo, it is a stunner. I love you poetic description of the scene.
It’s a magical experience watching the sun come up. I did it recently on a beach in Brazil, I watched it move second by second – really amazing.
