Looking at the view
One flew towards a roof
And then there were two!
Two little birds
Looking for the sun
One flew towards the sky
Then there was one!
One little bird
Still looking for the sun
Saw the misty line of trees
And suddenly was gone!

where yesterday the dark painted sun shone
in a lighter shade of pink
violet rose and saffron play today
along a lighter line of indigo
and here
a golden bird sits
on the lichen roof
counting to the rhythm
seen there in the mists
beyond those trees
