Gill McGrath June 25 Diary
Moon looked fascinating over in the field. Came back, and found out ,on the chart, that he had appeared for the first time at about 3.38 am, so he had been out for less than an hour and was actually on the rise. The sun appeared (in glory) about 5 am. The Moon should be about all day, but will be very hard to spot as the sun looks as if its going to stay bright in the blue. The rabbits, this morning, seemed not to care that I was there and were a delight. They started washing and running about and let me take photos! So checking out their pictures now.

Girls with hearts of sunshine!

The latest round of peonies are blooming (early) in the border! These are singles, and are very light headed so they can hold up their heads with out the droop!……but, they are still a quirky act as they only open up in full sun. That is they have to look directly at the sun in order to open at all! The garden enjoys full sun all day but as I write at 6 pm and with the sun on a slant heading west they have already wrapped up for the day! Press the picture for a close look (while you can) and see the gold they hide!Even the bees are getting angry because the yellow is now unavailable! It was very sunny, earlier when I caught these little beauties by surprise!
(About 150 blooms or more are out there in various stages of open and bud!)
4.14 am Eureka!

Watching the sun playing games on the horizon! I am looking down the hill which dips towards a church and rolls up again towards the rising sun; now framed in lamplight and the ‘bird’ washing lines (or power lines if you like!). Here I am the’ Only Big Kid on the block’ ……. UP again!….looking out of an upstairs window at the only time of year the sun arrives just here. No need to run out to the field round the corner to see…. a more spectacular view! Here there are no moving cars with honking horns. Just me and a window, while the world sleeps, it seems. And I’m on cushions, coffee in hand!
