Poetry Challenge…Non-love…

What is there left?
In me
Of you
Forever there.
The part that’s you
Still there with me.
Was it
Your eyes
Of blue.
Strange
How I tired of them.
Your smile
Unfunny.
Your dreams
Never.
Your voice
Your hopes
Still
So loud
I cannot remember
A single word.
But
Your hands.
Your hands.
The way they were.
Forever Gentle.
Stay forever
I remember….
‘People should fall in love with their eyes closed’

Hold back the River- James Bay

James Bay

Oxford won the University Thames Boat Race today. Oxford women took part for the first time this year and won also! Good title – nice tune

“Hold Back The River”

Tried to keep you close to me,
But life got in between
Tried to square not being there
But think that I should have been

Hold back the river, let me look in your eyes
Hold back the river, so I
Can stop for a minute and see where you hide
Hold back the river, hold back

Once upon a different life
We rode our bikes into the sky
But now we call against the tide
Those distant days are flashing by

Hold back the river, let me look in your eyes
Hold back the river, so I
Can stop for a minute and be by your side
Hold back the river, hold back

Hold back the river, let me look in your eyes
Hold back the river, so I
Can stop for a minute and see where you hide
Hold back the river, hold back

Hold oho, oho, oho, oho
Oho, oho, oho, oho

Lonely water, lonely water, won’t you let us wander
Let us hold each other
Lonely water, lonely water, won’t you let us wander
Let us hold each other

Hold back the river, let me look in your eyes
Hold back the river, so I
Can stop for a minute and be by your side
Hold back the river, hold back

Hold back the river, let me look in your eyes
Hold back the river, so I
Can stop for a minute and be by your side
Hold back the river, hold

Lonely water, lonely water, won’t you let us wander
Let us hold each other
Lonely water, lonely water, won’t you let us wander
Let us hold each other

Suddenly…. blue and cotton cloud

But first….
Over the fields beyond the trees
and back to where pink mists the lines

-Changes around the sky in 30 minutes and afterglow, as it was, on landscape opposite the sun!  Then a beautiful sunny day…….

mother blackbird. her morning. view

from a rather scruffy garden hedge

that will have to wait
a bird can see
gold…

catching the moment……

at seven the sun a peach caught in a  pretty haze
dancing  in and out the wires!
vanilla mists on the field in full cling caught casting dew
on every blade of grass making violets drip
with diamonds on the scented path
then blue skies and magnolia …at last

breathing pink and blue

breathing
in the pink and blue
a pigeon sits has found the moon!
sun climbs the line
is out of view
where
the pigeon walks
the lady smiles
stretching through the mist…..  Gill McGrath© [April 8]
