some balloons count cars and become signposts

A beautiful morning again. No clouds, clear sun. Just the big morning flighty kisses up there from the planes. Yesterday (Wednesday) went to a street market to take photos of balloons.. I guess some of the balloons that were there are gone today. But not the two I saw as I got off the bus. Flying no more.  As for this bunch (of five) sitting in a high tree; they have  landed in a really high place, and will stay there  till the last, unnoticed, counting cars, because everyone seems to look down at this point.Yeah! that’s 30 early planes at least I must have seen heading to Heathrow this morning(Thursday) making little crosses, way way up there. Can’t ever hear’em but  they  seem to be following my road, looking for the  place to land….. which they will…due east!

#napowrimo2014. Day 20. (Or the promise of Lines daily)

Up with the Lark!

Wake up world, where are you!
I’m wide awake!
It’s not that blooming early

It’s seven- twenty five
The Kettle has already boiled
And Coffee’s done

Just look out there…..

It’s cold
It’s cloudy
And just a little misty
And every-thing still dares to sleep
Even the birds are quiet. Just pigeons moaning
And the cat out there with nothing to do…. digs

Perhaps it’s time for a pause

Its Sunday
I’m going back to bed!

Gill. Diary. Today. Apparently early (not poetry, just saying, job done)

Philosophy that makes me feel better

The way to carry money……….
Here I am. I have just got back from shopping. I am sitting on the sofa looking at my stuff filled carrier bag. I am in a bit of a fizz, again. The bits I bought are safely in the bottom for sure, but I can only hope the paper money accrued on route ,thrown carelessly in, during frantic purchasing, is still there. I now realize once again that the couple of screwed empty ready salted crisp bags, I also acquired along the way, have unfolded themselves and  and are now floating around in the carrier, big time; and they may have pushed out  any of the  floating money in a flick during my various movements along route! So now I begin my ‘after shopping mantra’ a sort of prayer, about loose paper money which always float at some stage in the carrier bag I will be carrying, quite forgotten, during the various uncomfortable stages of travelling, that is until I get home………
Me:
It is good to carry money
In crumpled wads
In paper bags

….repeated three times during the process of emptying carrier bag.

And so my God gradually answers……..in gentle tones:

‘The best way I like to carry money, actually, is messily.
Crumpled wads.
A paper bag is good’*

Feeling better already. Never actually lost anything in a carrier bag.  As far as I know.Gill McGrath©
