First day of February
A dove catching a little bit of sun near the house today….
….some ornamental grass, brown and leathery and waving in the wind has been identified, by him, as something useful. He was seen in the garden pulling it up today in the sun shine. Almost like spring!
By 4 o’clock the birds were gathering in their latest favorite tree waiting for the evening sun, against the pastel sky.
Yet by 4.30 the birds were gone. A quick flurry of snow came sweeping down switching off the sun now hiding behind the grey. Silence.
And just as suddenly twenty minutes later the light was on again……… for a little bit.
so.february 1. still winter

Mirage of snow. Sunset. Over my house!
Snow? You saw it here first! Winter came as if by magic tonight over my house!(Sniffed it at 2.30 today honestly)see previous post But Snow? A Cloud bank hung over well above the horizon line today without touching it and allowed the sun to drop out of sight in sight all the way through till 15.52. The bank of cloud has been glued to the horizon lately every evening and the sun has waved its final goodnight usually around 3 as far as cloud cover. So the sky tonight was a wonderful pink to red for lot longer tonight where it should be.But I like this the 3.30 line. The snow is a little yellow I guess but heh! Its my photograph. There has been no fiddling its simply sunlight at play. So Yesterday the robin looked like a Christmas card and tonight the sunset looks like one too. Yeah Hello Decemeber!

Glad you sound Ok
Dear Emma,
Thank you for your letter. Just received it. Glad you sound OK. Isn’t it just the way? I had just posted a reply to your last miserable letter ( I went on a bit) and wish now I hadn’t ! Too late now. Glad you’ve come down to earth. Keep it up!! Anyway, just a quick note to say we are ok but amazed how much colder it is getting. Fireworks sounding off most nights and its not even Halloween yet, let alone Guy Fawks! There is likely to be a harsh cold spell in November, apparently. I don’t know if that means snow again and getting cut off like last year! At the moment everything in the garden is turning into bright autumn colours. Mostly red and yellow. A sight for sore eyes. A memory to hold, if the snow really does come when they say it will….or worse, if it doesn’t. I don’t mind a bit of white to even things. The kids are all settled in their new schools. Happy too!!
I may ring, Love Rosie xxx
